Dog Track
Ormeau ave, belfast

Year: 2017

Location: Belfast, Co. Antrim

Specifics: Unique Conveyor Restaurant

Catering Concepts were first approached by existing customers Michael O'Connor and Michael Fletcher of the Barking Dog in December of 2016. They had a bold and unique idea of a restaurant with a "sushi belt" but serving their mix of European and Asian cuisine. The guys found a site within Armagh House in the middle of Belfast and the work began in designing a custom, front-of-house cooking island surrounded by seating and a conveyor belt along with back-of-house facilities for prep, warewashing and refrigerated storage. Following a year of design, consultation and site work the Dog Track opened its doors in December 2017 and its unique style and food has it flying out of the trap!

Challenges of this particular project included the complex extract and supply system for the 2 compensation canopies whose ductwork rise 20 meters to the top of Armagh House, as well as the co-ordination with shopfitters to ensure the custom 48m linear conveyor belt was millimetre perfect when it landed in Belfast from Malaysia.

The Dog Track has Ireland's first Blue Seal Waldorf cooking suite as well as Williams drawered refrigeration, Rational combi ovens, Winterhalter warewashing and plenty of Catering Concepts custom fabrication.
